About Kat
Kat Leggett is public relations and marketing professional with a proven track record of success with lifestyle and consumer brands.
A graduate of the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs, Kat quickly decided post-college that a life in politics just wasn’t for her! Having fallen in love with all things delicious - food, wine, cheese - Kat jumped feet first into a restaurant career, taking a position as a Manager & Beverage Director while studying wine and beer. However, after a few years, while still passionate about the creativity of restaurants, she missed several core components of her field of study - writing, relationship building, positioning - and realized she could merge the two.
Leveraging a decade of experience in restaurants, Kat started her marketing career at marlo marketing as an Account Coordinator, working closely with restaurants and travel clients throughout New England. Over her four years at marlo, Kat was promoted several times to become Account Manager, leading a team and overseeing the brand strategy for a roster of 10+ clients at any given time. Starting from the ground up has given Kat a deep understanding of the ins and outs of how to set a brand apart.
Now, at Jack’s Abby Craft Lagers and Springdale Beer Co., Kat develops and executes media relations initiatives for the breweries, organizes both large and small scale events, spearheads hospitality marketing projects to drive traffic and manages external partnerships. A small collaborative team, Kat is often tapped to consult on other projects at the brewery, from developing an employee engagement program to redesigning a brand ambassador program.
On the weekends, you can either find Kat biking a long distance or searching for new cookbooks to add to her collection of 100+.
